Kohima, July 16 (MExN): The Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED), under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, is set to organise the 3rd phase of Tribal Artisan Empanelment Melas (TAeMs) in Nagaland. This initiative falls under the “Marketing and Logistics Development for Promotion of Tribal Products from North Eastern Region (PTP-NER Scheme)” and aims to provide livelihood opportunities to tribal artisans.
The TAeMs will take place on July 29, 2024, at the IG Stadium Kohima, Indoor Stadium Hall-A, with the official launch program commencing at 10:30 am.
A DIPR report stated that benefits for participating tribal artisans will be the sample product purchase. TRIFED will purchase sample products from artisans based on marketability, as decided by a committee of experts. Artisans will also benefit with bulk orders. Post selection of sample products, bulk orders will be issued to artisans, as per the decisions of the PSP Committee of experts in Guwahati.
Artisans will receive Travel and Daily Allowance of Rs 600 if food is not provided by TRIFED or Rs 500 if food is provided. Further, all payments will be made through online means via PFMS within a month of the event.
ADC Kohima, Rhosietho Nguori, has urged tribal artisans and producers to bring sample products for empanelment. Artisans have been requested to bring ST Certificate copy, AADHAR Card copy, Bank passbook first page with account details, and two passport-size photos.
