Nagaland Transport Department notifies 

Kohima, July 25 (MExN): In partial modification of Transport Department’s notification dated 11/07/2022, the vehicles beyond three-axle, including semi-tractor articulated trailers whose carrying capacity is 30.5 tonnes or more, which are carrying materials/equipment/goods, etc., meant for the ongoing capital connectivity project for Board Gauge New line from Dhansiri to Zubza by Northeast Frontier Railway, are allowed to ply on the National Highway stretch from Dimapur up to Molvom/Pherima. 

A DIPR report stated that the load being carried by every such vehicle should be within the limits as provided in the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and Central Motor Vehicles Rules 1989, and before such vehicle enters Nagaland, prior intimation with full details will be provided to Deputy Commissioner Dimapur and Deputy Commissioner Chümoukedima.

Addendum

In continuation of Transport Department notification dated 14.12.2021 and in the interest of Public Service, the Governor of Nagaland is pleased to notify that extension for another period of 6 (six) months of Booked Choice Vehicle Registration Number shall be made I (one) week before the expiry of the initial 6 (six) months validity. 

“Where no extension is sought and obtained, such number hall be presumed expired and shall be open to the allotment to any applicant,” it stated through a DIPR report.

In case of booked choice numbers whose validity has been extended, the vehicle shall be produced within the 6 (six) months extended period. Where (the applicant fails to produce the vehicle for registration within the period of extended time, the number shall be allotted to any other applicant.

Corrigendum

In partial modification of Transport Department’s notification dated 11,07.2022, the sentence, “Further, prohibition of the upward journey of the above-cited vehicles will not be permitted from Dimapur with effect from 15-07-2022 midnight” should be read as “Further, upward journey of the above-cited vehicles will not be permitted from Dimapur with effect from 15-07-2022 midnight.” This was stated in a DIPR report.
