Nagaland ULB Election 2024: Dedicatory prog of Thungchanbemo held in Wokha

The candidate declaration cum dedicatory programme of Thungchanbemo Lotha, Congress Candidate for ULB Election 2024 Ward No.12 (PWD/Zuvotong/CC) was held at the candidate's residence in Zuvotong Colony, Wokha on June 18.

Attending the programme, S Supongmeren Jamir MP, Lok Sabha (Nagaland) and President of NPCC emphasised the importance of grassroots engagement and underscored that the ULB Election serves as a crucial step for reaching out to these communities.

He outlined three key agendas that the Congress candidate intends to pursue for the benefit of the wards' residents. These include Youth Empowerment, aiming to provide coaching for UPC, NPSC, and NSSB exams to three to five students annually over five years, under the candidate's initiative. Secondly, he highlighted the establishment of Self Help Groups, and thirdly, the creation of a Welfare Fund to bring unity among the three Colonies within the ward.

Thungchanbemo Lotha urged the voters to place full confidence in his ability to implement beneficial ideas for their wards. Lotha assured voters that if elected, his priorities would include improving infrastructure such as drainage systems, retaining walls, and other essential renovations. He also pledged to address sanitation issues and ensure basic social necessities such as household water pipeline connections. Additionally, he proposed opening an IT library within the ward accessible to all residents. He then appealed the voters from his ward to vote for him.

The programme was chaired by Nkhao Tungoe, Gen Secy (Adm) DCC Wokha, invocation and welcome note by K Yisanbemo Kikon President, DCC Wokha, declaration of candidate by Yanchamo Ovung NPCC Gen Secy & Ex Candidate, dedicatory of candidate by R Samuel Ovung, Asst Pastor WTBC, short speeches by N Wopenthung Lotha, PCC Member & Ex Candidate and E Lotha Naharbari Dimapur and benediction by Rushamo Tsopoe.
