Nagaland ULB polls: DCs designated as ‘Revising Authorities’

Kohima, May 6 (MExN): The State Election Commission (SEC) in a notification has designated the  all the Deputy Commissioners in Nagaland as  "Revising Authorities" under their respective districts on behalf of the Commission for disposing of any potential revision application received in connection with scrutiny of nominations for the general election to Municipal and Town Councils,2024.

The concerned DC, on receipt of revision application can “hear and decide on such application in the manner prescribed under sub-rule (7) of Rule 27,  Nagaland Municipal Election Rules 2023, by or on the date specified for it in the 'Election Programme’ notified on April 29, it added.

The SEC notified on April 29 that the election to urban local bodies (ULBs) in Nagaland will be held on June 26, with period for nomination from June 7-11. While the list of validly nominated candidates is slated to be declared on June 14, ‘application for revision’ can be made from June 15-18.  The revision application will be disposed on June 19.
