Nagaland University concluded its Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 campaign with a valedictory ceremony at the new Conference Hall of the Administrative Complex on September 15.

LUMAMI, SEPTEMBER 17 (MExN): Nagaland University concluded its Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 campaign with a valedictory ceremony at the new Conference Hall of the Administrative Complex on September 15. The fortnight-long campaign, mandated by the Central Government, was held from September 1 to 15.
The programme was graced by Dr Abemo, Registrar of Nagaland University, as the Chief Guest. Dr. Lobeno Mozhui, Assistant Professor in the Department of Zoology, presided over the event, while Dr. Likhase Sangtam, Chairperson of the Swachhata Committee 2025, delivered the welcome address, outlining activities such as pledge-taking, signature campaigns, plastic collection, cleaning of Bakul plantation areas by NSS volunteers, and a best out of waste competition.
Dr Abemo urged participants to continue cleanliness practices beyond the fortnight. He announced the winners of the best out of waste competition- Hiyanla H. Kips and Mezingono Kiso (first), Manvik Singh of KV Lumami (second), and Imokokla Imsong, Research Scholar (third). Consolation prizes were awarded to Shantitoli Yeptho, Annagrace Lungbila Ki, Subashree Nayak, Dr Biplab Pal, Sohan Nayak, Kausik Kr. Nayak, Barneel Deka, and Kaushik Deka.
A short environmental video was screened by Dr Ashutosh Tripathi, Assistant Professor, Department of EVS. Photographs and clips of campaign activities were also displayed, and a musical performance of John Lennon’s Imagine by Political Science student Imsuwaden Ozukum added a cultural touch to the programme.
The valedictory ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Peter Ki, Convener of the Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 Committee. The event was attended by statutory officers, HoDs, faculty members, administrative staff and students, including Prof M.K Sinha, Sr. Professor of Economics, Kahoshe Sumi, Deputy Registrar, GAD, and Abhijit Sutradhar, Deputy Registrar, Academic Section.
