
Kohima, Dec 16 (DIPR): A workshop on “Oral History” organized by Nagaland University was held on December 16 at Conference hall of Nagaland University Kohima.
Resource person Prof. Bruce M Stave speaking on “Oral History”, touched on the definition of oral history which according to him were the accounts of past-life and old ages and urged upon the gathering to treasure the past-historical events to understand re-telling the past history. Prof. Bruce M Stave is Board of Trustees Distinguished Professor of History Emeritus at the University of Connecticut where he directs the Centre for Oral History. He has conducted a wide variety of oral history projects over four decades and was the winner of the New England Association of Oral History’s first Harvey Kantor Memorial Award for outstanding work in oral history.
Sondra Astor Stave wife of Prof. Bruce Stave earned her doctorate at the University of Connecticut. She is an experienced interviewer who has conducted approximately one hundred interviews for her book. The function was chaired by Dr. N. Venuh while the welcome address was delivered by Rosemary Dzüvichü. The seminar was attended by many lecturers from different Colleges.
