Dimapur, December 16 (MExN): Welisou Mero, a PhD research scholar at Nagaland University, has been awarded the Gavin Mooney Prize for her paper on public healthcare service quality in the state.
The prize was conferred during the 13th Indian Health Economics and Policy Association Conference held at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi on December 12 and 13.
The winning paper is titled ‘Assessing Public Healthcare Service Quality in Nagaland: Insights from a Case Study in Phek District.’ It was jointly prepared by Mero under the supervision of Dr. Renbeni Kikon, Assistant Professor in Department of Economics at Nagaland University.
The Gavin Mooney Prize is named after the pioneering health economist known for championing equity in healthcare and reshaping health policy thinking.
The conference was hosted by IIT Mandi in Himachal Pradesh.
