NAGALAND UNLOCK-8: Offline classes for classes I to IV allowed from Nov 1

KOHIMA, OCTOBER 28 (MExN): The Nagaland Government has issued more relaxations to existing lockdown measures, in particular to do with resumption of normal classes for school children from classes I to IV. 

An order from the Home Department informed that conduct of regular classes in schools in rural areas for students of Class I to IV shall be allowed from November 1 with 50% attendance. With regard to urban areas, normal classes for Classes I to IV will be allowed with 50% attendance, after approval by concerned DTF where positivity rate is low, and subject to adherence to all conditions as applicable for schools in rural areas.

Attendance shall be based on parental consent. It is also subject to teachers and non-teaching staff being fully vaccinated, or 15 days since 1st dose. If not, they should have been tested negative for COVID-19 through either RT-PCR or TrueNat or CBNAAT once every 15 days. 

The order further informed that bus service, inter-district bus service/taxi and other public transportation shall be allowed to operate beyond 50% and up to 100% capacity, subject to the drivers, attendants and passengers being vaccinated against COVID-19, or should have taken the first dose against COVID-19, and 15 days should have passed since taking the first dose.

If not, then the occupants should carry a COVID-19 negative test report with swab taken not earlier than 72 hours from the date of travel.
