Nagaland Veteran Inter-District Football Tournament 2020 kicks off

Mon, February 25 (MExN): The 10th edition of Nagaland Veteran Inter-District Football Tournament (NVIFT) 2020 kicked off today at Local Ground, Mon.

A total of 7 teams, each representing a district, are participating in the tournament. The tournament will culminate on February 29. 

The opening match between Mokokchung and Longleng ended in a 1-1 draw. Yongkai and Repa scored the goal for Longleng and Mokokchung respectively. 

Mon and Kohima settled for a goalless draw in the second match.  

In the final match of the day, the defending Champion Dimapur defeated Phek 3-1. The goals for Dimapur came from the boots of Lima wati, Yanbemo and Waisong Bey while Kuveduyi scored the lone goal for Phek. 

Advisor, Horticulture & Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan graced the opening ceremony as the special guest.
