Nagaland: Vivekananda Welfare Foundation celebrates I-Day

Dimapur, August 16 (MExN): The Vivekananda Welfare Foundation (VWF) celebrated India’s 74th Independence Day by distributing food packet as evening snacks to the street beggars.

Wth safety SOPs in place, Independence day was celebrated near the office of VWF at DMC building  and in the open spaces of Dimapur Railway Station by moving and riding around the city holding the National flag in hand and singing patriotic numbers, a VWF press release said. 

The VWF members distributed the food packets with water bottles to the needy people with a message to them and shared hope and prayer that the pandemic will soon be over, it said. 

The programme ended with a short speech from VWF official member, Arijit Sharma, it added.
