Nagaland Volleyball Association holds handing and taking over ceremony

NVA and other officials during recent annual General Meeting cum Election of new Office bearers.

Kohima, July 18 (MExN): The Handing and taking over ceremony of the Nagaland Volleyball Association (NVA) was held today at NSAPLMP Conference Hall, Agri Expo 4th Mile, Dimapur.

The outgoing president N. Jacob Yanthan encouraged the new team of office bearers to lead the association with great responsibility and courage by maintaining team spirit.
He stressed on the need to strengthen unity and team work which can easily bring progress.

Any association is not by mere individual efforts but of team work with Gods guidance, he said.

He also handed over all the NVA office and files with proper documentations to its newly elected president Visasilie Suhu.

NVA outgoing technical secretary P. Yanbemo Humtsoe shared about the latest development about the Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) wherein he informed that Virender Kanwar from Himachal Pradesh was elected as new president of VFI defeating his close rival Prem Singh Bajor by two votes.

Outgoing general secretary Tiameren Aier also shared his most memorable experience with NVA and brought many achievements during their tenureship.

Earlier, Jenio Ngulie, Youth Director, Lotha Baptist Church Diphupar B invoked God’s blessing.

The newly office bearers of the NVA for the tenure 2025- 2028 will be headed by president Visasilie Suhu. Other office bearers includes; vice president- Elia, H. Mangyang Phom and Tsiebou Khusoh, general secretary -Kyupise Sangtam, joint secretary- Keoshu Kussun, Ruvisie Poji and Mhasitso Hama (Technical),

Treasurer- Vikheshe Sumi and Shekani Sumi as Secretary Press & Media.

It may be recalled that the NVA held its Annual General Meeting cum Election of new Office bearers  for the tenure 2025-2028 on 11th April 2025 from Tourist Lodge Dimapur.

The Election proceedings were conducted in presence of two observers representative from Nagaland Olympic Association, Kohima and one representative from the department of Youth Resources and Sports, Government of Nagaland. 

The Election process was carried out in accordance with the prescribed guidelines and duly observed by the appointed officials, according to NVA.
