Nagaland-wide ops ongoing to combat menace drugs: Police

28 cases registered, 37 person arrested within a fortnight

DIMAPUR, APRIL 5 (MExN): Nagaland Police on Friday said state-wide operations in all the districts of Nagaland is continuing in order to combat the menace of widespread availability and usage of synthetic drugs and psychotropic substances and IMFL (Indian Made Foreign Liquor). In a press release, the Nagaland Police said intensive checking of vehicles (MVCP), raids and checking of hotels, restaurants etc are being carried out to control illegal activities. 

Highlighting further, it informed that during the fortnight from March 16 till April 3, 2024, 28 cases related to narcotics & psychotropic substances, IMFL and arms & ammunition have been registered and 37 persons arrested. It also seized 548 capsules of spasmo proxyvon and other tablets, 1478 grams of brown sugar, 25.75 grams of heroin and 22 kilos of ganja. 

While highlighting this, the Nagaland Police has further appealed to the general public to provide information of sale/distribution of any form of narcotics/drugs/IMFL etc to the nearest police station or narcotic police station or on ‘Call Your Cop’ mobile app or the Made in Nagaland platform. The identity of the informant shall be kept confidential, it stated.
