Nagaland: Women, girl child avail medical camp at Longleng

Longleng, August 16 (MExN): Commemorating the Independence Day celebration 2018, a one day free medical camp exclusively for women and girl child was organized by the District Task Force, Beti Bachao Bati Padhao (BBBP) Longleng on August 15 at Mt. Carmel School, Longleng and at local ground Tamlu for Tamlu sub-division.  

According to a DIPR report, Altogether 998 patients were registered in Longleng and free medical facilities were provided. Ultra sound was done to 30 pregnant women. Meanwhile in Tamlu 161 female patients availed the facilities provided by the camp.  

The activities of the medical camp were baby show (0-6 months), vaccination drive, Awareness and sensitization on Sukhunya Samriddhi Account Yojana, display of movies & videos on BBBP, distribution of IEC materials and free medical checkup. The medical team was led by Dr. Kongyan Phom CMO Longleng and Dr. Toshirenla Medical Superintendent District Hospital, Longleng. In Tamlu the medical camp was conducted under Dr. Baungan and Dr. James PHC Tamlu.   Minister for Health & Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Nagaland Jacob Zhimomi inaugurated the medical camp at Longleng. He also inspected the camp and interacted with the doctors, nurse and other health works during his visit. The medical camps were conducted under the supervision of the district administration of Longleng led by Deputy Commissioner & chairman DTF John Tsulise Sangtam.
