Nagaland Women Vocational Training Institute (NWVTI), Dimapur under the banner of Ministry of Textiles has put a stall at the ongoing Photo Exhibition and Artificial Intelligence Display in commemoration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (8 years of Seva, Sushasan & Garib Kalyan) at St Mary's Cathedral Higher Secondary School, Kohima.
NWVTI is an NGO set up in 2013 registered under the Home Department, Government of Nagaland (GoN) and also registered under Directorate of Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Nagaland under Certificate of Registration for Vocational Training Provider (VTP) and accredited by NSDC-Skill India.
The Institute is also working as ‘State Agency’ for conducting vocational training under the Department of Industries & Commerce, GoN and empanelled under the Ministry of Textiles, DC (Handicraft), Government of India (GoI).
The Institute was set up with an aim to provide free skill training to initiate self-employment and sustainable environment for the youths of Nagaland. In the last 9 years, the Institute has provided free vocational training to 1200 youths in different trade which was sponsored through different schemes Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), GoI, Department of Industries and Commerce, GoN, Urban Department, GoN and Ministry of Textile, DC (Handicraft) GoI.
The institute provide free vocational training on jute craft, hand embroidery & tailoring, beads work & jewellery, decorative handicraft items, cane & bamboo, woodcraft, soft toys.
The Nagaland Women Vocational Training Institute is based at Dimapur with its head office at Bank Colony, Opp. Super Market, near NIDC Ltd and sub-centre at Kohima, Imphal Road, near main gate of Lerie Colony.
The exhibition, to go on till November 2, is organized by Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting Field Office, Kohima, in collaboration with St Mary's Cathedral Higher Secondary School, Kohima.
