Nagaland Women’s U-23 team beat Pondicherry

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 24 (MExN): Nagaland beat Pondicherry by 1 run in a closely contested match at the Under-23 One Day Trophy held at Cuttack on January 24. 


Choosing to bat first, Nagaland put up a total of 126 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 50 overs. Ayantika was the state’s highest scorer with 49 runs followed by Tulika with 21 runs. 


Pondicherry were bowled out for 125 in 36.3 overs, with Sonal as their top scorer (53 runs). 


Sariba was Nagaland’s highest wicket taker with four. Merensola, Trishna, Ananya and Ayantika bagged a wicket each. 


Meanwhile, the Nagaland Seniors Men’s team is leaving for Kolkata on January 25 to play their Ranji trophy league match against Mizoram from January 27 to 30.
