Nagaland's CPI inflation rises marginally to 1.35% in Jan-March

Kohima, November 8 (MExN): The Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Nagaland has released the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Rural, Urban & Combined with Base year 2010=100 for the Quarter January-March 2018.   In addition to CPI, the Consumer Food Price Index (CFPI) for Rural, Urban and Combined are also estimated and released for the same quarter. All Nagaland Inflation rates (on point to point basis i.e. current Quarter over the 4th Quarter of 2017) and monthly changes based on General Indices and Consumer Food Price Index (CFPI) have also been provided.   The monthly changes in the General Indices shows that in the rural areas, the CPI (General) has increased by 1.81% during the period January-February whereas it has decreased during the period February-March by -0.27%. In the Urban areas the CPI (General) has decreased by –0.53% and -1.09% during the period January-February and February-March respectively. For the Combined sector (Rural and Urban) the index has increased by 0.87% from January-February, whereas, the index has decreased by -0.88% during February-March.   The CFPI for rural areas has decreased by -0.20% during January-February and further decreased by -1.43% during February-March. Similarly, in the urban areas the CFPI has decreased by -1.25% during January-February and further decreased by -1.55% during February-March. During January-February the CFPI for the combined sector has decreased by -0.46%, whereas, the index has increased by 0.45% during February-March.   The 1st quarter inflation rates base on CPI (General) for Rural and Combined has shown an increasing rate of 2.45%, and 1.35% respectively, whereas, for Urban it has decreased by -0.64% over the 4th quarter 2017. Similarly, the CFPI for Rural and Combined has increased by 0.5% and 0.22% respectively, whereas, the index for Urban has decreased -2.15% over the 4th quarter 2017.   All Nagaland Quarterly Inflation rates (%) based on CPI (General) and CFPI
