Nagaland’s first RSETI inaugurated

Peren | November 15 : For the first time in Nagaland, a centrally funded institute called Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) has been inaugurated in Jalukie Tuesday, November 15 at RBA office NAP colony. Addressing the ceremony as Chief Gust, Planning Minister TR Zeliang in his speech reiterated the institute to be a place where not only skills are imparted but mindset for success is also fine tuned.
Trainings and programmes and even siphoning of money cannot help bring economic development unless the mindset is changed, he said. The minister said trainings and programmes— even siphoning of money into the state cannot bring sustainable development if people do not plan but continue with the mindset of ‘get and spend’.
Citing of trip where a team of state officials visited Research centre and Farmers School in Korea which once during her independence was one of the poorest country, he said the Koreans were realistic people who believe in God, work, land and people. The minister was assured the Koreans became the
4th richest country today because their minds were changed from ‘get and eat’ concept to a practical work culture which is strongly focused on success.
Zeliang urged the present 30 trainees and the institution to demonstrate such qualities so that upcoming institutes and the public will realize the importance of such institute. Centrally funded through State bank of India (SBI), Rural Self Employment Training Institute is an institute not only imparts skill but also gives after-training care, the Deputy General Manager of SBI Mr Tilak Das said. He said the primary objective of RSETI is to generate maximum employment by imparting need based training and funding for both BPL and APL so that rural economy is vibrant and living standard increased.
The GM/DGM, SBILHO, in his speech disclosed that although Jalukie RSETI is the first, every district of Nagaland will soon have this institute so that the economy of the state will drastically be improved.
