KOHIMA, OCTOBER 18 (MExN): H Kajiiloni Krichena from Nagaland has been selected to undergo the Global Sports Mentoring Program (GSMP) along with 16 other women from diverse sports backgrounds representing the countries of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Cape Verde, Colombia, Czech Republic, France, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Kosovo, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Samoa, Uganda and Uzbekistan.
She was nominated for the program by Abu Metha, Secretary General of the Nagaland Olympic Association and an Alumni of the US State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program, a DIPR report stated.
The GSPM is a program of Sports Diplomacy under the United States Government and is in partnership with ESPN, pairs emerging leaders from various countries with female senior executives at top US organizations for a five-week mentorship program aimed at creating positive change in their communities. The program focuses on team-building, social entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership and action planning.
In the past, Krichena was nominated by the Indian Olympic Association to undergo a Masters in Global Sports Management from Seoul National University, South Korea. She is presently working as Sports Operations Officer in the Nagaland Olympic Association and had worked with various sports federations and has been part of the organisation of world championships, world cup and international sports events.
The Nagaland Olympic Association extended its appreciation to the US Consulate in Kolkata, the US Embassy in India and the American Centre in Kolkata for accepting the nomination positively and also expressed gratitude for partnering with the sports fraternity of Nagaland.
