Mezoma Students’ Union 75th anniversary celebration begins

Mezoma, January 10 (MExN): The 75th anniversary celebration of the Mezoma Students’ Union commenced at Mezoma on January 10. Gracing the inaugural session, Dr Zasekuolie Chüsi, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary, Land Revenue & Director, Census Operations, highlighted the importance of reflecting on past achievements while envisioning a future that resonates with the evolving world.

A press release received here stated that Dr Chüsi reminded the gathering that Nagaland’s statehood was achieved through political determination.

“This marked a significant chapter in Naga history. However, Nagaland is still lacking behind when compared with other North Eastern states.”

Dr Chüsi urged the students to recognise that every individual has a unique gift and emphasized the importance of nurturing talents within the community. He called on the gathering to encourage one another, recognise each person’s potential, and push each other forward to achieve collective success. He also stressed the importance of standing firm in values and rising above challenges to build a better tomorrow for the community.

Lhouchalie Viya, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary, NSDMA & NRE, challenged the students to give their best with sincerity and dedication in all their endeavors. He urged the youth to strive for excellence, reminding them that consistent hard work and honesty are key to success. While emphasising the need for equal contributions from all, he lamented that many men fall behind women in terms of dedication, perseverance, and responsibility.

He encouraged male students to step up, take responsibility, and work harder to match the achievements of their female counterparts for the progress of the community.

The inaugural session was led by Keviseto Rhitso, Co-Convenor of the Central Organising Committee, with Rev Vicavor Krose, Pastor of Mezoma Baptist Church, invoking God’s blessings upon the celebration. A special song was presented by Government High School, Mezoma, and Mezo-Liezha, led by Rüüvisie Krose. Greetings were delivered by Mezomia Mechü Kehou and Western Angami Students' Union.
