Nagaland’s tourism dept conducts Paryatan Parv prog at Zunheboto

Kohima, October 1 (MExN): The Directorate of tourism, Government of Nagaland, has conducted interschool painting competition at Zunheboto town on September 26 last at Olympic Higher Secondary School as part of “Paryatan Parv” programme.  

Before the start of the painting competition, Asst.director, Toka.E.Tuccumi, from the directorate of Tourism briefed the students about “Paryatan Parv”.  

In his address, he said, “Paryatan Parv” was initiated by Union Ministry of Tourism, DoNER and NEC, government of India and department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland in the year 2017 to showcase cultural diversity of the country and to reinforce the principle of “Tourism for all”.  

Its objective is to draw focus on the benefits of tourism.  

He also said that there are 3 components of “Paryatan Parv”- Dekho apna desh ; it is to encourage Indians to visit own country, Tourism for all- it is to promote event at cities across all the states in the country and Tourism and governance-it is intended to have interactive workshops with all stake holders.  

He also said, under Paryatan Parv there are many activities like cultural competition, dance competition, yoga sessions, debate, essay competition, heritage walk, painting competition, etc.

But this year the department opted to have a painting competition based on the theme “Global warming.” Tourist officer Khekishe Kappo highlighted the students about the theme of the competition.
