Barak FC, Frontier Warriors FC & NUSC continue dominant runs
CHÜMOUKEDIMA, FEBRUARY 12 (MExN): In a thrilling encounter that kept fans on the edge of their seats, Frontier Warriors FC (FWFC) emerged victorious against Sechu Zubza FC (SZFC) with a 6-4 win, in a match that saw a flurry of goals and nonstop action. Despite a strong start from SZFC, FWFC turned the tide with a commanding performance, sealing the match with late goals that left their opponents with no chance of a comeback.
The match kicked off with SZFC taking the initiative, as they piled on the pressure from the start. The visitors earned several set pieces early on, and their hard work paid off in the 11th minute when Thejasetou Ajabu (No. 7) broke the deadlock, converting a well-timed assist from Khiuwangbo. However, FWFC quickly responded, leveling the score in the 20th minute through Ayenmongba.
The home side continued to build momentum, and in the 38th minute, Longkhoi capitalized on a smart pass from Ayenmongba to put FWFC in front, heading into the break with a 2-1 lead.
The second half began with SZFC coming out strong, and they managed to find the equalizer just two minutes after the restart. Rhitso Mero scored in the 47th minute, shifting the momentum back in SZFC’s favor. However, FWFC regained control, counterattacking with precision. In the 58th minute, Dangmei finished off a swift counterattack, putting FWFC ahead once again. Just four minutes later, Dangmei doubled his tally, scoring in the 62nd minute with a composed finish.
Ayenmongba continued to shine for FWFC, adding another goal in the 71st minute to extend the home side’s lead to 5-2. Despite SZFC’s resilience, they were unable to keep up, and in the 86th minute, Pynbhalang pulled one back for SZFC, making it 5-3. However, FWFC responded in the 89th minute, with Naresh scoring to seal the victory at 6-3. A late penalty in stoppage time, converted by Thejasetou Ajabu in the 95th minute, proved to be a mere consolation for SZFC, as the match ended with a 6-4 scoreline.

Meanwhile, Barak FC continued their dominance, securing a commanding 5-1 victory over 27 United FC in a match that saw them score five goals before halftime. The league leaders delivered a stellar performance, showcasing clinical attacking play and solid defense, while leaving 27 United FC struggling to keep up.
From the first whistle, Barak FC wasted no time asserting their dominance. They took the lead in the 4th minute, with Kevisanyu finishing off a well-executed set-piece assisted by Peseyie. Just ten minutes later, Toka A Achumi doubled their advantage, capitalizing on a perfect pass from K. Siarau. Barak FC’s relentless attacking play continued, as L. Bohham struck twice within a minute (27’ and 28’), further extending their lead to 4-0. The first-half dominance was sealed in the 42nd minute, with Kevisanyu netting his second goal of the match, completing a devastating first-half performance.
In the second half, 27 United FC regrouped and managed to stem the tide of Barak FC’s attacking onslaught. They defended more resolutely and created a few chances, showing improved composure compared to the first half. In the 80th minute, Ngansang Phom pulled one back for 27 United FC, scoring a late consolation goal. However, it was a mere formality in a one-sided match that had long been decided. Player of the Match went to Laiwang Bohham (Barak FC - Forward).
With this victory, Barak FC continues to solidify their position at the top of the league standings.
Nagaland United Sports Club (NUSC) delivered a dominant performance, securing a convincing 3-0 win over Longterok Football Club in the latest round of the Nagaland Super League. Despite Longterok FC controlling possession for much of the match, their failure to capitalize on attacking opportunities and costly errors allowed NUSC to maintain control.
The match saw NUSC capitalize on swift counterattacks and solid defensive organization. Jenish opened the scoring in the 10th minute, giving NUSC an early lead. Hahao Kuki sealed the victory for NUSC with two clinical finishes in the final minutes—scoring in the 86th and in injury time (90+1’).
