‘Grace Revival’ underway at IMC

Dimapur, April 30 (MExN): First day of the “Grace Revival” at Imliyanger Memorial Center (IMC) here Tuesday evening was marked by thunderous worship music, special musical performances, and sermon by Pastor Lawrence Lim from New Creation Church, Singapore. The crowd, mostly consisting of young people stood on their feet; lifted their hands, cheered and clapped along the worship band, echoing “Amen” as they sang praise songs.

Pastor Lim started off by acknowledging that the Nagas are “anointed” with gifts for music and encouraged them to use the “blessing” to glorify God. Lim proclaimed the vision of this Revival as “a revival of the unmerited favour of God upon us”, a revelation that has the power to transform lives. Lim in his sermon, replete with anecdotes and illustration spoke on the indiscriminating nature of God’s grace revealed in the person of Christ; that “grace is not a part of the Gospel, but grace is the gospel,” and “God favours us not because of our goodness, but because he is full of grace.”

He talked about the unconditional love of God who sent his only son to save the sinners. “God did not send His son to condemn you but to save you.” Pastor Lim told the congregation to continue to have faith in God adding, “Our God is a good God .... The whole world can condemn you but He will love you.” He further stressed not to judge the love of God by one’s circumstances, but by the cross. “The cross is the ultimate proof that Jesus loves us more than he loves himself.” When people need healing, he said, it was their responsibility to pray while the responsibility of healing is Jesus’, likewise Pastor Lim said preaching was about glorifying the name of Lord Jesus Christ and not how one presents it to influence congregation.

Other speakers for the Revival include Pastor Gabriel Tan from New Creation Church, Singapore and Pastor Shan Kikon from Faith Harvest Church, Kohima. The Revival will continue till May 3. On May 2 and 3, the service timings will be 9:30 am and 12:30 pm while on May 3, the service timing has been fixed at 4:30 pm. Local artists like UDX, Alo Wanth, Tali  Angh and Dreamz Unlimited will be performing during the services. Grace Revival is jointly being organized by Sinai Ministry and Faith Harvest Church, Kohima.
