Kohima, July 26 (MExN): Huskha Yepthomi, Working President, in his presidential address, on behalf of the President, to the Central Executive Council (CEC) members during the Emergency CEC meeting of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) on July 25 lamented that Nagas have elected unprincipled people as their representatives.
According to a press release issued by Media & Press Bureau of the NPF Central, the party’s Working President expressed anguish over the “habitual visit” to Kaziranga by the Naga MLAs whenever any disagreement arise among themselves and termed it “unbecoming” of the leaders.
Pointing out that this was the third time that Naga MLAs tried to solve their internal problems at Kaziranga, Yepthomi sarcastically remarked that the government of Nagaland should construct a guest house at Kaziranga after the 2018 general elections.
Stating that T.R. Zeliang was running the government smoothly when public uprising compelled him to step down, Yepthomi contended that Zeliang should not be the Chief Minister since the Joint Inquiry Commission set up in the aftermath of the incident is yet to submit its report.
Also stating that Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu has announced that Nagaland Municipal Act shall be rewritten, Yepthomi rued that Zeliang had taken over the Chief Ministership even before the matter has been initiated. “It is an insult to the people of Nagaland,” he maintained.
The NPF’s Working President further reminded the members that suspension and expulsion of some MLAs from NPF Party was the decision taken by the Party on the recommendation of the Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC) in the interest of the Party and called upon all party men and women to remain calm.
