Nagas heading for doomsday: Azo Nienu

Phek, February 18 (MExN): MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu today expressed serious concern that Nagas are heading for doomsday and termed it as “the sad reality.”
Addressing the inaugural function of the 27th wrestling meet of Chakhesang Wrestling Association (CWA) in Phek town, he stated that “Nagas have fallen short of the glory of God Almighty” starting with the leaders “ourselves encouraging nepotism, favouritism, promoting tribalism and further disintegrating our already fragmented Naga society.”
Referring to the recently concluded state budget session, the legislator said, “We truly have some very incompetent leaders who are not even capable of answering questions during the Assembly Session not to talk about running a department or two.”
He also stated that “some of them are trying their level best to rope in the saffron party's ideologies just to please their political gurus and be in the chair.”
“They have been given the posts of ministers just by the pressure from the Centre knowing fully well their incapabilities and ineffectiveness in running the affairs of the Government,” accused the senior legislator Nienu.
“It will be a miracle if their mindset changes to rationality and humility,” he said. While encouraging the wrestlers, Nienu stated, “Since (we) Nagas really love wrestling, the wrestlers should also lead an exemplary life and inspire the youngsters.”
Further, he encouraged the Naga wrestlers to venture out in the areas of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), Arm Wrestling and others stating its scope and the rewards that can change a person’s life.
