Even as scores of Naga students and professionals working in Bangalore arrived home by trains and flights in the wake of reported threats on NE people, a good will team of the state government that landed there on Saturday evening has said that Nagas were living peacefully in Bangalore.

The good will team to Bangalore is led by Minister for Power & Election, Doshehe Y. Sema and accompanied by Parliamentary Secretary for Social Welfare and Women Development, Chotisuh Sazo and IGP (Training & Border), Renchamo Kikon.

“I have come to Bangalore along with my colleagues to assess the ground reality of the situation and came to know that people are living peacefully in Bangalore.  People of Bangalore and the communities here are peace loving people,” Doshehe told The Morung Express over the phone from Bangalore on Sunday.

The team along with representatives of Naga Students’ Union Bangalore and Naga Christian Fellowship Bangalore met Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister, R. Ashok who is also the Home Minister, on Sunday and discussed the situation.

Doshehe has invited Ashok to come over to Nagaland as a state guest to see the students and professionals who have returned home and then take them back to Karnataka by reassuring their safety. He said the Deputy CM is likely to visit the state within a fortnight.

The Nagaland good will team on Sunday attended a fellowship with the Naga Christian Fellowship Bangalore to instil a sense of security and confidence in their minds.

Doshehe appreciated the steps taken by Union Home Minister, Karnataka Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister to erase the doubts and fears from the minds of NE people. He said the fear psychosis has caused worry not only to NE people but also to the people of Karnataka and people of India.

Doshehe said that the rumour which was traced to Pakistan has tried to make the people fight against their own shadow. The Minister, however, said NE region is an integral part of India and that no one should make an attempt to dissociate or segregate NE from India. He said people of India have unified vision to build a strong nation and no one can dissociate them on this strong unified vision.

Doshehe expressed appreciation to all political parties and communities of the country who have come out with unified object to win over this kind of propaganda. He said that the relationship that has been established through the students and employees in Bangalore has further been strengthened out of this situation.
