Advisor for Prison, Printing and Stationary, Kropol Vitsu on Friday remarked that the public today are not facing any atrocities or harassment from military forces or Naga National Political Groups except few anti social cases.
Speaking at the state executive meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Nagaland held at the state BJP office, Kohima, Vitsu asked the youths to become aware of one’s history and dispel misconceptions that prevails against the BJP party. He said there has been a 'sea of change' in the last 10 years led by the NDA government. He said Naga youths need to educate the people at the grassroots and not be blindly following rumors and propagandas.
In the context of Nagaland, the BJP party leader said the people have suffered at the hands of the Indian government during Congress rule at the centre since the time of attainment of statehood.
Till 2013, the Congress never talked about good development for the people of Nagaland, they have never talked about any peace deal negotiations with the NNPGs or the people of Nagaland, Vitsu claimed.
During the later part of the Congress regime, the Man Mohan Singh government blocked sanctions for construction of Dimapur to Kohima 4-lane National Highway which was given by Atal Bihari government adding that there was no significant development in the state, he alleged.
With the BJP in power for the past 10 years, Narendra Modi led government brought rejuvenation with a slew of mega developmental works. He said ceasefire agreement with the NNPGs took place.
Because of these initiatives, the public are not facing any atrocities or harassment from the army or underground people except few stray cases anti social elements, the Advisor claimed.
While asserting that NDA government is very strong in the backdrop of the opposition claiming that the BJP may not be able to continue as majority, the Advisor also remarked that "If 240 members cannot run the NDA government, how can 99 members be expected to run the government," while questioning the logic of the claim.
Referring to the Vikshit Bharat, Vitsu said there has been no government with such visions as this and said the current ruling government was not interested in piecemeal or pocket development but equal development of all by 2047.
National Executive Member, BJYM Arvind Damani, State Chief Spokesperson, BJP, Nagaland Thomas Magh and State Co-Chief Coordinator, Akum Pongen delivered speeches during the programme.
Discussion and resolutions was presented by BJYM Vice President, Sedevilie Angami.
During the meeting, the BJYM resolved that every district BJYM Presidents should be appointed only with the consultation of State BJYM President. It also resolved to wholeheartedly work towards achieving the Viksit Bharat 2047 and congratulated, Tejasvi Surya, the National BJYM President for retaining the Bengaluru South seat.
The BJYM also assured its support to the leadership of Benjamin Yepthomi, State BJP President in taking the party forward for greater heights and resolved to adhere to the NDPP-BJP led PDA government in true spirit.
