•-Time and again, the matter of killing and selling wild animals and migratory birds has a long related issue in Nagaland. It is disheartening to see poachers invading the fauna kingdom at regular interval. What makes more disturbing is that, the food market in Nagaland is filled with varieties of (dead) animals and birds. There is free illegal act of selling in the main market all over. It is the failure of forest administration as well as animal rights organisation in curbing the situation and taking no action. The person found doing business must be punished as per the Wildlife Protection Act. It should be known that, every village must take essential measure by coming into collaboration with district officials to stop illegal poaching or hunting in their respective village reserved forest. There is a huge extinction of wild animals and birds over a decade In Nagaland, also the fact that the hunters are leaving no stone unturned in killing beautiful animal from a place famous for flora and fauna. It is every citizen responsibility to make aware of one self and spread the ill effect of killing animals and bird from reserved area. I request the forest officials and district administration to banned selling of animals and birds in the market all over Nagaland. It is also a request to all the village officials to strictly implement an act in stopping illegal hunting in village reserved forest. Live and let live is one of the keys to peace and happiness. Stop killing and start growing!
