
Kohima, April 12 (MExN): One-day career guidance programme was organised by Northern Angami Gazetted Officer Krotho (NAGOK) and Northern Angami Students Union (NASU) in collaboration YouthNet Nagaland on April 12.
Speaking at the programme, President of NAGOK stressed on the need to focus and dedicate oneself to have a successful career. The resource persons were Ebibeni Humtsoe, Nune Chase and consultant Susan Ela James.
The resource persons encouraged the students to take up higher education and plan for their career based on their passion, interests, strengths and skills. Speaking at the interactive session, head of training and development Nune encouraged the gathering to follow one’s heart while choosing a career.
Various job opportunities, career courses and free training available under YouthNet and PMKVY i.e skill development training was highlighted by Ebibeni Humtsoe.
A press release stated that about 180 students attended the programme which was divided into class 8, 9, 10, another section of 11, 12 and another batch of under graduate, graduate and above. They also shared data on unemployment and demographics of young people of Nagaland and how each year more and more people are writing exams but the number of jobs are decreasing. They encouraged the students to seek opportunities and explore, internships, and look for ways to develop the society.
