Dimapur, January 31 (MExN): The Naharbari Village Council, GBs, Naharbari Youth Organisation and 11 communities of Naharbari Village have asserted that Naharbari Village was established since the time of the British and is one of the oldest villages in Nagaland. It is also recognized by the Government of Nagaland and its citizens/residents are peace loving and maintain peaceful atmosphere in the village and foster harmony and oneness among the communities of the village, they added in a press release.
“Therefore, any individual, group, community, organization etc without prior formal information/intimation interfere/meddle in the affairs and tries to destroy the peaceful atmosphere of our village by issuing threat/ threatening any of our citizen(s) shall be looked upon as an insult and any untoward eventualities that may occur in course of our action(s) shall solely be the responsibility of the individual, group, community, organization etc. concerned,” the release stated.
The press release was appended by a representative each of the Naharbari Village Council, GBs, Naharbari Youth Organisation, Kachari, Sumi, Ao, Lotha, Chakhesang, Angami, Rengma, Chang, Sangtam, Garo, Muslim communities.
