Rüsoma | December 18
The valedictory programme of 44th biennial general conference of Northern Angami Students' Union (NASU) was held on December 18 with Neilasa Sopfü, DIG, Fire and Emergency, Government of Nagaland as the guest of honour at Rüsoma Village.
Addressing the gathering, the chief guest said it is high time for the students to question themselves if they are able to compete with the rest of the world. “These days, students are becoming lazier in their studies and wasting their time in unwanted activities,” asserted Sopfü, who viewed that to become a good student and a successful person one should dedicate oneself so that one can become someone in the society.
Narrating the stories of global prominent leaders, Neilasa said that most leaders achieve their success with their sheer hard work, and not because of privileges.
Sopfü challenged all the students to be sincere and hard working “else failure is not far away from them.” Further, the guest of honour exhorted the NASU outgoing executives and the incoming executives to give their best for the welfare of the students’ community and be good leaders.
NASU also elected the new office bearers for the tenure 2017-19 headed by Kevilelhou Zumu as president, Zhapuneituo Zhale as general secretary, Aso Khana as treasurer along with 7 other members.
The programme was chaired by Khriezotuolie Francis, while invocation was pronounced by Khrieo Mezhü, pastor, CRC Rüsoma. Chiechama Village Students' Union presented a special song and vote of thanks was pronounced by Selabeituo Theünuo Education Secretary, NASU.
