
Kohima, July 23 (MExN): Dr. Temsumeren, Addl. Director & HoD, Department of AH & Veterinary Services on behalf of the Government of Nagaland launched the National Animal Disease – Control Programme (NAD-CP) at the Conference Hall of Nagaland Livestock Development Board, Lerie, Kohima.
According to a press release issued by Dr B Lama, Addl. Director & Nodal Officer (NAD-CP) AH & Veterinary Services NAD-CP was launched in consonance with the Government of India, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi with the rest of the States & UTs in the Country including all 117 Aspirational Districts.
This programme was launched nationwide across the country by the newly created Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying with a view to eradicate Foot & Mouth Disease (FMD) and Brucellosis by 2025 on Mission Mode.
The programme was chaired by Dr V Rutsa, Joint Director (Planning) and Keynote addresses were delivered by Dr B Lama, Addl. Director & Nodal Officer of NAD-CP and Dr N Theunuo, Addl. Director, Nagaland Livestock Development Board on National Animal Disease – Control Programme (NAD-CP) and Information Network System on Animal Productivity & Health (INAPH) respectively.
While launching the programme Dr. Temsumeren highlighted the importance of the programme and the seriousness of GoI in eradication of the diseases, for which convergence of the programme with the newly introduced scheme called Information Network System on Animal Productivity & Health (INAPH) & National Animal Disease Reporting Systems (NADRS) is being done for complete traceability and capturing of real time reliable date of the Immunised Animals at the farmers’ doorstep. Therefore, he called upon all the Departmental Officers, District Officer and Field Staff to carry out the works on war footing.
The programme concluded by carrying vaccination on FMD and tagging of dairy cattle at the State Cattle Breeding farm, Lerie, Kohima.
