Women’s Sepak Takraw Teams secure Silver and Bronze medals

Nagaland’s medal tally has now reached 6 in the ongoing National Games in Goa, thanks to two medals earned in the Sepak Takraw discipline on Friday.
In the Women’s Regu Final, Nagaland secured Silver after losing to Manipur 0-2 in the final. Goa and Assam, the two losing semifinalists, each won a Bronze medal.
Nagaland defeated Goa 2-0 in the semifinal.
Meanwhile, in the Women’s Team Event, Nagaland settled for a Bronze medal, following a loss to Goa in the Semifinals at Fatorda Multi-purpose Hall, Margao, Goa.
In the final match, Manipur triumphed over Goa with a score of 2-0 to secure the Gold. Uttar Pradesh, the other semifinalist, also secured a Bronze.
Following the addition of two medals on November 3, Nagaland’s total medal count has risen to 6, with one Gold, 2 Silver, and 3 Bronze medals.
Kitenlo Thono secured the Gold in the 90-95 Kg category of Men’s Pencak Silat Tanding.
The other Silver medal was secured by Liike Kibami in the Women’s Pencak Silat Tanding 55-60 kg category.
Kibami, along with Hinokali and Avikali V Sheqi, also won Bronze in the Pencak Silat Regu event.
The third Bronze medal was earned by Sudhir Chauhan in the 87 Kg category of male Taekwondo at the National Games.
This current tally represents Nagaland’s best performance at the National Games since its debut in 2007 when the State secured a total of 11 medals, including 1 Gold, 1 Silver, and 9 Bronze.
