
School of Planning & Architecture and Engineering School in Nagaland soon

Stating Nagaland is still far away in technical and professional studies, Deo Nukhu, Parliamentary Secretary- Higher and Technical Education announced that under the sponsorship of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, a “School of Planning and Architecture and an Engineering School will be setup very soon”.
He further disclosed that the school of Planning and Architecture will be setup in Peren district near the Sainik School and the Engineering School in Dimapur district for which verification of site will be held very soon. He made this announcement during the launch of website and releasing of brochure of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Nagaland at Chumukedima.
Speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function, he also stated that a lot of progress has taken place in the institute since its inception. To the students he said, by organizing this cultural festival you have the choice of participating in various events to showcase your talent and gifts. Undergoing technical and profession not an easy task and therefore this is an occasion to refresh yourselves.
Stating that Ekarikthin in Sanskrit means sharing the “same heritage” which will be of great importance to our country, having unity in diversity in different culture and religions to come together through this event, he also said that the event will give an opportunity for students from NIT and other institution to come together and showcase their gifts and talents.
To all the participants he said, “Your participation here will help you to excel in your career not just your studies. Perform in utmost sincerity and diligence to display your potential and enlighten the audience in NIT and in achieving the national goal of diversity.”
NIT Director welcomed all the invitees, schools, colleges and faculty to the Techno-Cultural festival. She informed that Ekarikthin 2017 is an event where students can exhibit their skills and talents through the various events that the organizers have arranged. Winning is not the only goal but the spirit of participation can help the students to their personal growth and which will boost their confidence and motivate them to attain a bright career.
Students of Patkai Christian College presented an outstanding cultural song and dance, followed by a song from Kalino.
This is the third edition of annual event of NIT Nagaland. A community of four hundred students from Ekarikthin plus participating schools and colleges are taking part in this three-day mega festival.
Voice of Ekarikthin, Ritzy, Counter Strike, Dota, FIFA, Need for Speed, Chess Competition, Dubsmash, Maze Runner, Science Exhibition, Pick and Place and Mud Race, Stream The Boat, Gully Cricket, Rockville, Cosplay, Impressions, Pencil Sketching, Rangoli Making, Junkyard Electronics, Treasure Hunt, are the event lineups for the three day festival. This will be followed in the evening by performing artistes like Magadalene Band, Alobo Naga and The Band, and DJ Night.
