Assam Rifles flagged off National Integration Tour for 20 residents of Oting village, Mon on February 3.

MON, FEBRUARY 3 (MExN): Assam Rifles flagged off National Integration Tour for 20 residents of Oting village, Mon on February 3. The 12 days tour is being organised under Op Sadbhavna with an aim to give residents from remote villages an opportunity to experience rich and diverse cultural heritage and socio-economic developments in our country.

According to a press release, the participants will be visiting Jorhat, Kaziranga, Delhi and Agra. During the tour, team will be visiting Jorhat Air Force Station to witness the military might of nation, tour will provide unique opportunity to explore India's rich cultural and historical heritage by visiting Red Fort, Qutab Minar, Taj Mahal, India gate and National war memorial. They will also visit the new Parliament building to meet members of parliament.

This initiative will foster a sense of national pride, belongingness and promote the core fabric of our nation 'Unity in Diversity.' This includes visiting various sites of historical and national importance.
Mongnei Konyak who is 73 year old was quoted as saying, "I had never thought that I will be able to visit various parts of India. This is like a dream come true for me and I shall always be thankful to Assam Rifles for this opportunity." All the participants of National Integration Tour are full of enthusiasm and eagerness to visit various parts of country, the press release maintained.
