National Integration Tour for mothers and widows of Phek district underway

Dimapur, October 19 (MExN): Under the aegis of IGAR-N, a National Integration Tour for Mothers and Widows Association of Phek district undertaken by 38 Assam Rifles of Phek Battalion was flagged off on October 15 at Phek town by Commandant Col Prashant Singh Chunduwat. The tour will culminate on October 23. 

According to a press release from the Assam Rifles, the team of 16 women reached Delhi on October 17. They visited Rashtrapati Bhavan on October 18 and Shastri Bhavan wherein they interacted with Smriti Irani, Minister for Women and Child Development and Minority Affairs. 

The team also visited the India Gate and National War Memorial. More visits are scheduled. The tour is aimed to provide opportunity to the women to venture beyond the North East region and explore various inspirational and renowned institutions of national eminence, the release added.
