Dimapur, October 9 (MExN): The National Integration Tour for students of Nagaland to visit  Ahmedabad, Gujarat was flagged-in by the chief guest, Major General Vikas Lakhera, Sena Medal, Inspector General of Assam Rifles (North) on October 9 at Ghaspani.

The tour was organised by the Assam Rifles wherein a total of 18 students (nine girls and nine boys) from the Modern College, Piphema along with two professors participated. The ten-day tour was flagged-off from Ghaspani on September 28, stated an update from PRO, HQ IGAR (North).

The chief guest of flagging-in ceremony addressed the gathering and highlighted the commitment of Assam Rifles towards bright future of people of North East and especially Nagaland. He also enunciated that the experience and exposure obtained by the students during the tour will certainly help in bringing a positive change in personal lives of students and also the future of their home state of Nagaland. 

The tour aimed to provide the students of Nagaland a comprehensive exposure to various inspirational, educational and industrial institutions in the state of Gujarat, and to bring about all round growth. 

The tour included visits to monuments of national importance like Statue of Unity, National War Memorial, Sabarmati Ashram, ISRO Space Centre, Science City and the coveted Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad among many other places.
