National Mathematics Day celebrated in Tuensang

The National Mathematics Day was celebrated on August 1, at a seminar organised by the Nagaland Science and Technology Council and hosted by St Joseph School and Akum Imlong School, Tuensang. The seminar, held at CKS Hall, was themed “Mathematics for Everyone” and saw the participation of eight schools from the region.

Around 120 students attended the seminar, with R Akila Rothrong, Deputy District Agriculture Officer (DDAO) Tuensang, as the special invitee. The judges for the event were Dr T Lal Veda Chandra Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Economics, SCC, and Ciekrovoto Theluo, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, Sao Chang Government College.

In the competition, Debraj Nath from Wela Foundation School secured the first position, followed by Pongkhu Chaba M Chang from Trinity Academy in second place, and Supou Khiamniungan from St. Joseph School in third place.

The winners were awarded certificates along with cash prizes, and all participants received certificate of participation.
