National Panchayati Raj Day at Tichipami village

Zunheboto, April 27 (MExN): Village level celebration of National Panchayati Raj Day with commemoration of Dr. BR Ambedkar’s 125th birth anniversary was held at Community Hall, Tichipami village on April 24, organised by RD Block Suruhuto in Zunheboto district.   The program was chaired by Aito Achumi, VDB Secretary Village, invocation by Vilivi Aye, Youth Pastor Tichipami, Hovito Achumi, HM (GMS) shared about life sketch of Dr. BR Ambedkar and his life history and his fight for weaker section of the society, equality and justice.   Obed Achumi, BDO Suruhuto highlighted the activities of MGNREGA, IAY, their impact and changes on rural life and how the villagers should utilise the Government funds properly for the development and upliftment of the village.

  Hekuto Yeptho, Accountant, Social Welfare Department spoke on SNP/NSAP stressing on the importance of children nutrition and pregnant mother health care and also talked on IGNOAPS, IGNWPS, IGNDPS, their objectives and activities.   JE Hotolu, PHE spoke on Swachh Bharat Mission, its aim and objective, sanitation problems in villages, how to maintain clean environment, clean living, good health, observing Global Hand Washing Day and Toilet Day in order to maintain clean village.   The programme was attended by Shakwang, BDO Akuluto, Ghukato, BDO Tokiye, Government officials from RD, Social Welfare, PHE Department student leaders, VDB Association Suruhuto, NGOs, VCM, VDB Secretary from villages under Suruhuto Block.
