Longleng, January 19 (MExN): Longleng district observed National Road Safety Month under the theme “Let the new year begin with safety, kindness and responsible living” at a programme held at the DPDB Hall, Longleng on January 19. The programme was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Longleng, W Manpai Phom, NCS.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner informed that a special camp would be organised in February in coordination with the Regional Transport Office (RTO), Mokokchung. He requested the participants to disseminate the information widely.
On the occasion, Phom also launched a booklet on road safety and distributed helmets to bikers of Longleng as part of the awareness initiative.
The enforcement team, led by Road Safety Enforcement Inspector (RSEI), RTO Office Mokokchung, Temsulong, briefly highlighted key aspects of road safety during the programme. He also distributed road safety booklets to all participants.
The programme formed part of the district’s efforts to promote road safety awareness and responsible road usage among the public.
