Kohima, September 2 (MExN): A two day national seminar on constructivism was conducted by Research and Development Committee Modern Institute of Teacher Education, Kohima at the College Auditorium Hall. The seminar stared with the inaugural programme chaired by Kavani Hekha, welcome note from Devanand Sinha, Principal MITE, and Keynote Address from Dr. Bendangyapangla, Principal, SCTE, Kohima.
A press release stated that altogether eleven resource persons consisting of research scholars and teaching faculties from various colleges and universities presented their papers. The presentation was put forward in two technical sessions. The first technical session was based on ‘Conceptual and Theoretical Knowledge on Constructivists Approach’ chaired by Dr. B.V Rao, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Education, Nagaland University with five presenters. Constructivism Vs Behaviorism, Role of Constructivism in Teaching-Learning: A Theoretical Perspective, Role of 5E and 7E Constructivists Models in Mathematics Education were some of the topics presented.
In the Second Technical Session, it was chaired by Dr. Gomesh Mosahary, Principal, Sazolie College of Teacher Education, Jotsoma on ‘Constructivism at School and College level.’ Constructivists Approach- A paradigm for Teaching and Learning at College Level, Constructivism at School Level were some of the topics delivered.
Representatives from State College of Teacher Education, Kohima, Nagaland University and participants from various colleges attended the seminar. The seminar concludes with the valedictory Session chaired by Imkongsenla Longchar, Asst. Professor, MITE, Valedictory Remark from Mrs. Elizabeth Walling, Assistant Professor, SCTE, Kohima, Rapporteurs Remark from Daikho Manehrii, Asst. Professor, MITE and Vote of Thanks from Pelee Hekha, Managing Director, MITE.
