KOHIMA, APRIL 16 (MExN): A two-day National Seminar on ‘75 Years of India's Achievements: Ideas and Resolve’ was organised bythe Internal Quality Assurance Cell, St. Joseph's College (Autonomous), Jakhama, Nagaland, Sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Sciences Research (ICSSR), New Delhi on April 14 and 15 at the college Conference Halls.
The Keynote Speaker was Prof Kedilezo Kikhi, Professor, Department of Sociology, Tezpur University, Assam & Chair Professor, Dr BR Ambedkar Chair, Tezpur University, (Dr Ambedkar Foundation, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India).
The two-day National Seminar started with an Inaugural session in which welcome address was delivered by the principal of the college, Fr. Dr. George KeduolhouAngami who stated that people come to such programmes “with a purpose and for a purpose” and that one should “destroy ignorance and spread knowledge and awareness”. 25 papers were presented during the seminar from various academicians and scholars, from different colleges and universities, divided into 6 (six) technical sessions chaired by different chairpersons, over the two days.
There was a panel discussion after which the valedictory session was organized. Certificates were given out to the various paper presenters, and concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr Hormila Zingkhai, Convenor of the seminar, Asst. Prof., Dept. of Sociology, SJC (A), Jakhama.
