Dignitaries and others during National seminar on ‘Border Dynamics in Northeast India’ held at Baptist College, Kohima on June 12.

Kohima, June 13 (MExN): A two-day long national seminar on ‘Border Dynamics in Northeast India: Challenges, Opportunities and Policy Imperatives’ was held at Baptist College, Kohima from June 11 to 12 last.
The seminar was held with the aim to analyze the historical and geopolitical context of border disputes and security challenges in north east India, to explore the implication of cross border economic initiatives and infrastructural development, to examine the impact of border issues on local communities, trade, and socio-political stability, to provide a forum for experts to discuss security measures, counter insurgency strategies and law enforcement cooperation and to formulate policy recommendations for an integrated and sustainable approach to border governance.
It was sponsored by ICSSR and organised by Research & Development Cell (RDC) Baptist College Kohima in collaboration with department of History & Archaeology, Nagaland University, Kohima Campus.
The two-day seminar witnessed three technical sessions in blended mode (online and offline) with a total number of 50 paper presenters and 40 papers, one panel discussion on the main seminar topic and two plenary sessions.
The seminar concluded with a valedictory session chaired by Alito Swu, Assistant Professor, Department of History, Baptist College with Dr Khriezo Yhome, Senior Fellow and Editor with Asian Confluence Shillong as the guest speaker.
Earlier, the inaugural session on June 11 was chaired by Dr Sentinaro, Seminar Convenor, Baptist College Kohima. Vipralhou Kesiezie, Chairman, Governing Body, Baptist College delivered the inaugural address.
Sanjoy Hazarika, Journalist, Author, Academic, Policy Expert, Founded the Centre for North East Studies and Policy Research was the keynote speaker.
