Dear,
Rev. Dr. Wati Aier
Convenor,
Forum for Naga Reconciliation
Firstly, I extend my warm greetings to you and all your colleagues. I express my special thanks to you for the hard work you have done for the Unity of the Nagas. As one among the patriotic Naga citizens, you must have felt the pain to witness the present Naga political situation.
The need for a Forum like the FNR is greatly felt at a crucial time as this. Whatever may the people thinked about the reality of the Reconciliation or the Authenticity of the FNR, I urged you to keep working for that good cause.
Today, I want to make few clarifications which remain doubtful before the FNR and the Naga people about the stand of my Party concerning the Reconciliation process.
1. Right after I signed the Covenant of Reconciliation (COR) with Isak Chishi Swu and Brig. (Retd.) S.Singnya for Naga Reconciliation and Forgiveness based on the historical and political Rights of the Nagas, the NSCN-IM attacked us five times thereby compelling us to defend ourselves. Since then, till today, their aggressive nature still continues. We could not tolerate such immature act of the IM and boycotted the Reconciliation.
2. The Indians had corrupted the minds of the NSCN-IM leadership. The IM thinked that Khaplang is a hindrance in their demand for Naga Integration. The result is quite visible today with NSCN –IM sending their men time and again to attack even when we both are signatories of the Reconciliation. The NSCN-IM deliberately violated the Covenant of Reconciliation and their hunger for bloodshed is Instinctive. Therefore, I would not be able to sign anything at this stage just for the sake of it. IF I do so, I would be committing a great blunder against the Naga people and against GOD.
After all who wants war all the time? Why should we fight among one another, wasting out Energy, Time and Resources when the real enemy is still out there? Why are the NSCN-IM ever thirsty to shed blood of their Naga brothers?
On the 7th of September, 2009, the NSCN-IM sends Rev. Puni and Col. Avishe to my base camp. I told them, “I do not have personal enmity with either Muivah or Isak, and I hope neither do they. This fight is just due to differences in political ideology which is for the cause of the Naga nation. You demand from India whatever you feel Right, if you get it, then it is for the welfare of the Nagas. I will not support it or bandth it. I will not stand your way, provided you do not stand on mine.”
The 1951 Plebiscite on the issue of Naga Sovereignty and the sequence that follow in which The Nagas boycotted the Indian General election of 1952, and the sacrifices made by thousands of Nagas cannot be forgotten. I will fight it till the last breath. The young Nagas must fight for it and passed it on to the future Generation.
Our Foreign Policy is Non-Violent. We want to be at peace with our neighboring countries. We proposed to fight and defend ourselves only when attacked.
I hope this few points clarify doubts.
Concerning the Representative for the Reconciliation, I expressed my inability to send one from my Party at this point of time, but would soon be sending someone from the NGO and the Church.
Thanking you Sir.
