
Kohima, August 26 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner, Kohima and ex-Officio chairman of DMA (SSA), Beiu Angami, addressed the inaugural programme of the training on ‘Household Child Census & Out of School Children Survey 2009’ here at the DC’s conference hall this morning.
Exhorting the participants, the DC said that the census operation is of utmost importance and the personnel carrying out the process should be careful while collecting the data so that there is no criticism from any quarters. He also said that the public should give the correct information and cooperate with the personnel involved.
He said that the ‘Household Child Census & Out of School Children Survey’ is a policy of the government of India which is trying to formulate strategies to utilise the school dropouts. Accordingly, the DC said that all the states have been directed by the government of India to carry out the census operations. He hoped that the census operations carried out would be a success and to the satisfaction of the higher authorities.
Zaveyi Nyekha, DEO and District Coordinator for DMA (SSA), Kohima, in his welcome address said that the objective of the SSA was about people’s movement, and all concerned should work together for the education of the children. The programme was chaired by Project Assistant for SSA Kohima, Ruokuoneinuo. Resource persons at the programme included Assistant Programmer, SMA (SSA) Nagaland, Akum Aier, and Research Associate (RA), SMA (SSA) Nagaland, Khukiye Awomi.
