National Teachers’ Award 2025 winner Peleno Petenilhu honoured

Kohima, November 28 (MExN): Peleno Petenilhu, a post graduate teacher (PGT) of John Government Hr Sec School, Viswema, has received the “National Teachers’ Award 2025” for her innovation, dedication, and significant impact on student learning.

The National Teacher Award is conferred annually by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Petenilhu received the award on September 5 for her innovative teaching technique “Each One – Teach One.” 

In her honour, the Directorate of School Education, Nagaland, on November 28 organised a felicitation programme for Peleno Petenilhu.

A press update from DoSE stated that the event was held at Morung Conference Hall, DoSE, Kohima, where senior officials, school heads, teachers, and staff gathered to acknowledge the outstanding contributions of the awardee. 

Speaking at the programme, Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, MLA &Advisor, School Education& SCERT, commended the awardee for bringing national recognition to the state. Yhome emphasised that the achievement reflects the commitment and hard work of teachers across Nagaland who continue to strive for excellence despite challenges.

He added that ‘this honour is not only a personal achievement but an inspiration for the entire teaching community of Nagaland.’
