
Phek, November 27 (MExN): The Research and Seminar Committee, Phek Government College conducted a two-day national webinar on ‘Impact of COVID-19: Opportunities and Challenges funded by Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD) Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu on November 25 and 26.
In the inaugural programme, Dr Vizovol Mekro, Principal, Phek Government College delivered the welcome address, while Prof Sibnath Deb, Director, RGINYD, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India was the guest of honor.
Dr I Koktiba, Coordinator, Research and Seminar Committee gave the keynote address.
On the first day, the resource persons were Neichute Doulo, CEO Entrepreneurs Associates, Kohima, Associate Prof Dr Abhijit Borah, Department of Physics, Fazl Ali College.
Doulo spoke on ‘Entrepreneurship in Nagaland: Challenges and Prospects’ while Dr Borah presented on ‘Application of IT&C in Teaching Learning Process’.
In the second session Dr Seyiezolie Khoubve, Assistant Prof and Director of Skill Development, Phek Government College presented on ‘Imparting Skills Based Knowledge among Students, Dr H Atoholi Sema, Assistant Prof presented on ‘Floriculture and its Prospects’ and Dr I Koktiba on ‘National Youth Policy’.
On the second day Dr Medongulie Zatsu, Assistant Prof presented on the topic ‘Sustainable Development Goals’, Dr Thejotalu Nienu, Assistant Prof on ‘Creating awareness through Personal Hygeine and Health Care’. In the second session, Rozelle Mero, Director of People’s Channel, Dimapur, spoke on ‘Entrepreneurship in Nagaland: Opportunities and Challenges’ and Dr Levinu Sakhrie, Assistant Prof on ‘Good Governance and Informed Citizenship’.
In the last session, presentation on ‘Self-employment and other Employment Opportunities in Nagaland’ were delivered by Anini Nyenga, Senior Project Associate, YouthNet, Entrepreneurship Centre, Kohima and Tsepila Zhimomi, Manager Training and Talent Management, YouthNet Job Centre, Kohima, Every session was followed by question hour and discussion. The programme was closed with a vote of thanks from Prof Vasanthi Rajendran, Centre for Training, Orientation and Capacity Building and Centre for National and International Collaboration, RGNYID and Shepalu Suyie, Vice Principal and Associate Prof, Phek Government College.
