
Mokokchung, June 11 (MExN): The All Sanchi (Agar) Growers Association of Assam (ASGAA) held national workshop on Agarwood Extraction from June 5 to 7 at Moayimti village for the youth of the area.
During the three-day workshop, ASGAA team also observed World Environment Day and planted 100 Agar saplings in public places and roadside of the village, informed a press release received here. The first Agar grower from Moayimti village, Tsuknungmangyang was also felicitated with a certificate by ASGAA on the same day.
Villagers participated in the observance, where Chairman Imkongtizuk and Village Headman (GB) encouraged to plant more Sanchi saplings in their respective locality in next coming days. The whole programme was monitored and supervised by social activist of Limatoshi village.
25 youth successfully completed the workshop and were each issued a certificate.
ASGAA since March 29, 2017 has been organizing series of different programmes under ‘Mission Green Village’. It will conduct few such skill development programmes in Nagaland so that youth of the State can use their natural resources in a sustainable manner for self employment, the release stated. The team ASGAA was headed by General Secretary Bikash Borah along with the Vice-president Rajib Saikia, Organizing Secretary Asangla, and Publication Secretary Chandan Kalita.
