Seyochung, January 7 (MExN): A free medical camp and health awareness programme was organised by the Nature SBI Foundation at New Monger Village under the Seyochung area on January 7, 2026.
Seven villages and Seyochung town participated in the programme, making it one of the largest community health support initiatives in the area in recent times.
The programme focused on key health issues affecting rural communities, particularly communicable diseases and cleanliness. Awareness sessions were held on mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue and malaria, tuberculosis prevention and availability of treatment, the importance of handwashing and household sanitation, and the need to discourage open defecation and improve hygiene practices.
Villages that took part in the camp included Seyochung Village, Thangthure, Old Monger, Yingphire, Tsingar, Yangzitong and New Monger, along with Seyochung Town.
Speaking on the occasion, Muwali T. Sangtam, President of the Seyochung Area Students’ Union, thanked the Nature SBI Foundation team for bringing medical support to the region. “Our people have nothing to offer in return, but may the good Lord bless your work,” he said.
Longtili C Sangtam, Project Lead, Nature SBI Foundation Nagaland, appreciated the community’s participation and described the turnout as encouraging. He also thanked the Seyochung Area Students’ Union for its support in organising and coordinating the programme.
Residents availed free health check-ups, medical guidance and medicines, while also receiving information on maintaining clean and healthy communities. The programme concluded with a call for more such collaborative initiatives in the future to build a healthier Seyochung region.
