DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 3 (MExN): The Navsahyog Foundation, a Bangalore-based not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhancing life skills and creativity among village children aged 5-14, marked Gandhi Jayanti with celebrations across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Nagaland.
The foundation operates in 300 villages, engaging over 9,000 children daily through sports, storytelling, creative activities, and experiential learning, a press release issued by Navsahyog Foundation informed.
This year’s festivities, supported by women’s organizations, community leaders, and local sponsors, showcased a vibrant spirit of unity and enthusiasm.
In Seluophe, celebrations were held at the government school, attended by prominent local figures including Women Society Secretary Epipeni Khusoh, Joint Secretary Penili Chinir, and Women VDB Secretary N Kayia. Children enthusiastically participated in speeches, drawing contests, and dance performances, contributing to a joyful atmosphere. Key contributors from the Navsahyog team, including Assistant Field Coordinator Diloni Langthasa, Area Facilitator Roshan Pradhan, and Village Coordinator Julie, played pivotal roles in the event's success, the press release stated.
In Hazadisa, the government school hosted similar celebrations, featuring a performance by local children, who showcased their talents through dance and patriotic songs. The event was graced by the Village GB and the village council chairman, with the Navsahyog team, including Assistant Field Coordinator Diloni Langthasa, Area Facilitator Reshmodi Girisa, and Village Coordinators Kobita and Ringli, ensuring the program's smooth execution.
Additional celebrations took place in various other villages such as Singrijan, Urra, Disagaphu, Tsithrongse, Bade, Amaluma, Dhansiripar, Doyapur, Ganeshnagar, and Lhothavi, each highlighting the talents and patriotism of local children.
