NAYO distressed by judgement; to hold what is just and right

Kohima, May 13 (MExN): The Northern Angami Youth Organization (NAYO) has expressed distressed on the judgement of the Principal District Session for sentencing Yuirenga M R Shimmy to 10 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5000 for the murder of Neiphretuo Metsieo, a police inspector on September 7, 2018.

Neiphretuo Metsieo was a member of the NAYO, stated a press release issued by NAYO, President, Roko Angami and General Secretary, Ruokuosneitso Kire.

“We the NAYO despise and abhor all such kind of despicable act. Whereas the Hon’ble Principal District Session judge has sentenced Yuirenga M R Shimray to ten (10) years imprisonment and a One of Rs. 5000/-, it is undue for a murdered who had defied all norms of a civilized society. We believe, he should be punished with the highest degree of the law. His accomplice Rinthingchon Lunghanvoshi should also be meted with the same degree of punishment.”

The NAYO reiterated that it “will not cease to defy the injustice meted to our member, we will steadfastly hold to what is just and right our member(s) and the Naga Community.”
